<h1>India Strengthens IPR Policy: New Awards for Startups and Police; School Campaigns to Boost Innovation Awareness.</h1> The Commerce and Industry Minister emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing the efficiency of India's Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) policy, highlighting its TRIPS compliance and forward-looking nature. During the World Intellectual Property Day and National Intellectual Property Awards Ceremony, it was announced that an IPR Awareness campaign would be launched in schools to foster innovation respect. Two new awards were introduced to encourage startups and recognize police enforcement of IPRs. The 2017 National IP Awards, organized by CII and the Indian Patents Office, honored various organizations for their contributions to IPR enforcement and strategic use in commerce and industry.
