<h1>Mumbai and Delhi See Slower Direct Tax Growth Compared to Other Regions; Bengaluru Leads with 22% Increase.</h1> Direct tax collections in the Mumbai and Delhi zones of the Income Tax department showed single-digit growth until December 24, despite national and zonal levels experiencing double-digit growth. Mumbai collected Rs. 1.74 trillion, a 9% increase from Rs. 1.59 trillion the previous year. In contrast, other regions like Pune, Thane, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata reported double-digit growth. Bengaluru's collections rose by 22% to Rs. 62,418 crore, while Chennai and Kolkata saw increases of 20% and 14.5%, respectively. Pune and Thane also reported significant growth, with Pune at 19% and Thane at 27.5%. Delhi's growth was modest at 2.7%, collecting Rs. 74,147 crore.
