Chandra, an IRS officer from the 1980 batch, has served as Member (Investigation) in CBDT since December 2015. His career in the Income Tax Department includes roles such as Principal Chief Commissioner and Director General of Income Tax in Ahmedabad, and Commissioner of Income Tax in Mumbai. Chandra's leadership is anticipated to enhance the department's taxpayer-friendly initiatives and e-governance efforts.
