Reference rate for US dollar sets rupee cross-rates for euro, pound and yen and fixes the SDR rupee benchmark. The central bank reference rate for the US dollar is published as the operative benchmark for rupee exchange rates and is compared with the prior reference; that rate, together with middle cross currency quotes, is used to derive rupee rates for the euro, pound and yen, and to determine the SDR rupee rate.
