An India-Nepal Inter Governmental Committee (IGC), led by Commerce Secretaries of the two Governments, is constituted under the India-Nepal Treaty of Trade. The meetings of the Committee provide a platform for reviewing bilateral trade issues. The last meeting of the IGC was held on 21-22 December 2013 at Kathmandu.
The meeting of the IGC is being hosted by India on 28-29 June 2016 at New Delhi. The Indian delegation would be led by Ms. Rita Teaotia, Commerce Secretary, Government of India while the Nepalese delegation would be led by Mr. Naindra Prasad Upadhaya, Commerce Secretary, Government of Nepal. The meeting is expected to resolve various trade related issues and discuss enhancement of the bilateral trade between the two countries.

The Inter Governmental Committee constituted under the India Nepal Treaty of Trade is a Commerce Secretary level mechanism to review bilateral trade issues, coordinate implementation of treaty provisions, and seek administrative resolutions.
