Government has granted final approval to the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) at Medak District, Telangana on 22nd January, 2016. As per the Detailed Project Report (DPR), submitted by the state Government of Telangana for final approval, the estimated total investment by manufacturing industry by the end of the ultimate phase of NIMZ development is ₹ 17,300 Crores and the direct & indirect employment generation is about 2.77 lakhs. For the said NIMZ, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd.(TSIIC) has acquired 3501 acres of land out of a total 12635 acres of land for the said NIMZ.

This information was given by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
