DRI Seizes 218.43 kg of Mephedrone and 15.40 kg of Methamphetamine in Rajasthan; Five Arrested in Major Drug Bust.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 218.43 kilograms of Mephedrone Hydrochloride and 15.40 kilograms of Methamphetamine in Rajasthan, valued at Rs. 30.58 crore and Rs. 15.40 crore respectively. The operation occurred at two factory locations in Mount Abu and Gandhinagar. Five individuals, including the kingpin, a director, a partner, a chemist, and a technical expert, were arrested. Mephedrone was recently classified as a psychotropic substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. In the past three months, the DRI has seized approximately 1250 kg of Mephedrone and dismantled four factories since its classification. Further investigations are ongoing.
