ICRIER Study Urges Improved SEZ Policy with Single Window Clearance, Sector-Specific Incentives, and Better Domestic Integration.
The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) conducted a study analyzing the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Policy. The study recommends enhancing Single Window Clearance through improved coordination between the Department of Commerce and state governments, integrating SEZs with the domestic economy, and refining the institutional and administrative framework. It suggests aggressive marketing, policy stability, sector-specific incentives, and applying the best Free Trade Agreement rates for domestic clearance of SEZ-manufactured goods. These insights were shared by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce Industry in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
