India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties on 93 Products After Investigations, Including 3 Electronic Items, to Protect Domestic Industries.
The Directorate General of Anti-Dumping Allied Duties (DGAD) initiated 114 anti-dumping investigations from April 2011 to February 2015, targeting various imports, including 12 electronic items. These investigations, based on petitions from domestic industries, assessed economic factors like market share and profits to determine the impact of dumped imports. The findings revealed material injury to domestic industries, leading to the imposition of anti-dumping duties on 93 products, including three electronic items. This action was based on DGAD's recommendations and was confirmed by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
