<h1>Indian Companies Raised $1.13 Billion Through ECBs in November 2010, Says Reserve Bank of India Report.</h1> In November 2010, Indian companies raised nearly USD 1.13 billion through external commercial borrowings (ECBs), as reported by the Reserve Bank of India. Approximately 50 companies secured USD 946 million through the automatic route for various projects, while four companies raised USD 182 million via the approval route. Notable transactions included a Delhi-based steel company obtaining USD 300 million for domestic use and two other firms raising USD 145 million and USD 125 million for refinancing and rupee expenditure, respectively. Companies can access up to USD 500 million annually under the automatic route, with other borrowings requiring RBI approval.
