EU Lifts Ban on Indian Mango Imports, Vegetables Still Restricted Under Decision 2015/237.
The European Commission has lifted the ban on mango imports from India, as per Commission Implementing Decision no. 2015/237 dated February 12, 2015. Indian mango exports to the EU were valued at $6.73 million in 2012 and $10.09 million in 2013. However, the EU has not lifted the ban on vegetable imports from India. The Indian government has developed a Standard Operating Procedure for pest-free vegetable exports, involving processing in APEDA-approved pack houses and supervision by Plant Quarantine before export. This information was provided by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
