The Central Board of Direct Taxes Chairman stated that both direct and indirect tax targets are on track. The government set a revenue target of Rs 7.45 lakh crore for the current fiscal year, marking a 19% increase from the previous year. Official data showed a 17.85% rise in net direct tax collections, reaching Rs 2.16 lakh crore from April to November, surpassing 50% of the annual target. In the same period last year, collections were Rs 1.83 lakh crore.
