New Delhi: Pausha 26 , 1935 January 16, 2014 During the Current Financial Year, a total of 1,370 Investor Awareness Programmes have been organized by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in various parts of the country as on 31.12.2013 through its 3 Professional Institutes: Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. During December a total of 263 programmes were organized.
During the last Financial Year a total of 1,986 Investor Awareness Programmes were organized. For these Programmes, an amount of Rs. 5 crore has been earmarked in the budget of the Ministry.
In recent months, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has started organizing the Investor Awareness Programmes in the rural areas of the country also. For this the Ministry has engaged the services of CSC e-Governance Services India Limited. A total of 60 such Programmes had been organized as on 31.12.2013, which were organized in the 3 states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab.
Investor awareness programmes expanded through professional institutes and rural outreach, with budgetary allocation supporting nationwide delivery. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs delivers Investor Awareness Programmes through three professional institutes, organizing 1,370 programmes in the current financial year to 31.12.2013 (263 in December) with a budgetary provision to fund these activities. The scheme has been extended to rural outreach via partnership with CSC e Governance Services India Limited, with sixty rural programmes conducted across three states as of 31.12.2013.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
