The Government has set up the Cabinet Committee on Investments (CCI) with the Prime Minister as the Chairman to promote accelerated and time bound decisions on grant of various licenses, permissions and approvals for implementation of projects.
The CCI does not receive any investment proposal for approval. It merely seeks to expedite decisions on approvals/clearances.
This was stated by Minister of State for Finance, Shri Namo Narain Meena, in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
Cabinet Committee on Investments streamlines approvals by expediting licensing decisions and does not itself approve investments. The Cabinet Committee on Investments (CCI), chaired by the Prime Minister, is designed to accelerate time bound decisions on licences, permissions and approvals for project implementation by expediting and coordinating administrative clearances; it does not receive or grant investment approvals itself.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
