There are no proposals for establishing new offices of Director General of Income Tax at various places in the country. However, a new office of Director General of Income Tax for Data Mining and Risk Management has been sanctioned by the Government.
To protect the interest of officers and staff of Income Tax Department the Government has approved the Cadre Restructuring proposal of the Income Tax Department and has continued with the scheme of grant incentive of 1% of the revenue collected by the Department in excess of the budget estimates.
This was stated by Minister of State for Finance, Shri J.D. Seelam, in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
Data mining and risk management office approved, with cadre restructuring and continuation of revenue-linked incentive scheme. Government sanctioned a dedicated Director General of Income Tax for Data Mining and Risk Management, declined proposals for other new DGIT offices, approved the Income Tax Department's Cadre Restructuring to protect officers and staff, and continued the departmental incentive scheme linked to revenue collected in excess of budget estimates.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
