The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs. 61.9225 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs. 83.6375 on November 6, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (November 5, 2013) were Rs. 61.7880 and Rs. 83.4190 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Note : The SDR-Rupee rate will be based on the reference rate.

Reference rate publication sets benchmark exchange values and derives other currency rates from cross currency quotes. Publication of reference exchange rates by the central bank establishing benchmark conversion values for major currencies. The Reserve Bank issued Reference Rates for the US dollar and the Euro for the stated date, indicated that the SDR Rupee rate will be computed on that basis, and derived additional currency rates using the published dollar rate and cross currency middle quotes.
