With reference to the advertisement issued in the newspapers and websites of NIBM/ RBI / IBA on September 16, 2013 for the post of Director, NIBM, the Search Committee constituted for this purpose had interface with the shortlisted candidates on October 23 and 24, 2013.

As per the recommendation of the Search Committee, the Governor, RBI has approved the selection of Shri Achintan Bhattacharya (Retired Joint Secretary of Dept. of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India) for the post of Director, NIBM.

Selection of Director appointment confirmed after search committee recommendation and executive approval for public institute leadership. Following a public advertisement, a Search Committee shortlisted candidates, conducted interviews, and recommended a candidate; the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India approved the appointment of Shri Achintan Bhattacharya as Director of the National Institute of Bank Management.
