The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs.63.3770 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs.84.5980 on September 17, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (September 16, 2013) were Rs.62.4840 and Rs.83.4960 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Reference exchange rate: central bank updates US dollar and euro benchmarks, setting basis for other currency parities. The central bank published reference rates for the US dollar and the euro with corresponding prior day figures, and, using the US dollar reference and cross currency mid quotes, provided derived rupee exchange rates for the British pound and Japanese yen; the release states the SDR-rupee rate will be based on the announced reference rate as the formal daily benchmark for market and administrative purposes.
