The regulatory authority mandates that Asset Management Companies monitor compliance with the Minimum Investment Threshold of INR 10 lakh for Specialized Investment Funds daily, ensuring investor holdings do not fall below this amount due to redemptions or transfers. If an investor breaches this threshold, all units across strategies will be frozen, and a 30-day notice to rebalance investments will be issued. Failure to comply within this period will result in automatic redemption of the frozen units at the applicable Net Asset Value. The circular requires AMCs, Registrar and Transfer Agents, and Depositories to implement necessary systems for enforcement, effective immediately, under the authority granted by securities laws to protect investors and regulate the securities market.
