of The DGFT issued Notification No. 19/2025-26 under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, amending the import policy for items under CTH 2843 of ITC (HS) 2022 Schedule-I. The notification revised the import classification from 'Free' to 'Restricted' for all colloidal precious metals and compounds including gold, silver, platinum, rhodium, palladium compounds, and amalgams. This regulatory change affects ten specific ITC(HS) codes covering precious metal compounds, colloidal precious metals, silver nitrate, sodium aurous thiosulphate, and noble metal solutions. The amendment took immediate effect upon publication, significantly tightening import controls on precious metal-based chemical compounds and requiring importers to obtain specific licenses or permissions for these previously unrestricted items.
