of <h1>Export Obligation Period for Raw Sugar Imports Extended to March 31, 2011, Under Handbook of Procedures Amendment.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended paragraph 4.22.1 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), 2009-14, extending the Export Obligation Period for advance authorisations issued for the import of raw sugar. For authorisations where raw sugar was imported between September 21, 2004, and April 15, 2008, and the export obligation remains unfulfilled, the period is extended until March 31, 2011, without a composition fee. Authorisation holders can opt to pay the applicable customs duty on the import date for the unfulfilled quantity to regularize their cases. This amendment serves the public interest.
