of <h1>2026 import authorisation process for restricted IT hardware under HSN 8471 via IMS portal, validity till 31.12.2026</h1> Prescribes the 2026 procedure under DGFT's Import Management System (IMS) for obtaining import authorisation for restricted IT hardware under HSN 8471 (laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, ultra small form factor computers and servers). Importers must apply for import authorisation through the IMS portal on the DGFT website; the application window runs from 22.12.2025 to 15.12.2026, and any authorisation issued under IMS remains valid until 31.12.2026, enabling imports within that validity period. Multiple applications may be filed in the year, and amendment requests during the authorisation's validity may be submitted online, allowing modifications without fresh authorisation. MeitY may conduct a mid-term review to update inputs to DGFT, and DGFT may amend, modify, suspend or withdraw the procedure at any time based on policy requirements or government directions.
