of <h1>New RTI framework designates CPIOs, APIOs and Appellate Authorities u/s 5(1) of RTI Act, 2005</h1> Public Notice No. 06/2025 dated 28-05-2025 issued by the Bengaluru City Customs Commissionerate designates Central Public Information Officers (CPIOs), Assistant Public Information Officers (APIOs), and Appellate Authorities under Section 5(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005. Specific Deputy/Assistant Commissioners are assigned RTI responsibilities for defined functional areas, including export promotion, warehouses, administration, RTI matters, vigilance, adjudication, legal, prosecution, faceless assessment, audit, refunds, drawbacks, disposal, and coordination with custodians at the Commissionerate headquarters and ICD Whitefield. A senior officer at the level of Additional/Joint Commissioner is designated as Appellate Authority for the respective CPIOs, for handling first appeals under the RTI Act.
