DGFT Eases 'Bill of Export' Requirement for SEZ Supplies Before July 2017 Under Advance Authorisation, DFIA Schemes.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has relaxed the requirement for submitting a 'Bill of Export' as evidence of export obligation discharge for supplies made to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units under Advance Authorisation and Duty-Free Import Authorisation (DFIA) schemes. This applies to supplies made before July 1, 2017. Exporters can now provide alternative evidence, such as ARE-1 forms, proof of receipt by SEZ recipients, and payment evidence from SEZ units. This decision follows industry representations about compliance difficulties and is approved by the DGFT.
