<h1>India Simplifies Wireless Equipment Import for Telecom: Self-Declaration, Online Portal, and QR Verification from November 15, 2021.</h1> Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) in India can now import wireless equipment through a simplified self-declaration process as part of an Ease of Doing Business initiative. Importers must apply to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) 30 days before shipment arrival via the Saralsanchar Portal, paying a fee of Rs. 500. Late applications incur a Rs. 5000 fee and require departmental authentication. The system generates a certificate, verified by Customs through a QR code, effective from November 15, 2021. Violations of self-declaration terms may lead to certificate cancellation and legal action. Customs officers are advised on this new procedure.
