SEBI Allows Listing and Trading of InvITs and REITs on IFSC Stock Exchanges with New Guidelines.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a circular permitting the listing and trading of Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) on recognized stock exchanges in International Financial Services Centres (IFSC). These trusts must be incorporated in jurisdictions approved by the Indian government and regulated by local securities market regulators. They should also be listed on specified international exchanges. Stock exchanges in IFSC must develop a framework for listing requirements, subject to conditions set by SEBI and other authorities. This circular aims to protect investors and regulate the securities market.
