of <h1>Importers Can Use Scanned Pre-shipment Inspection Certificate for Metallic Scrap Until June 30, 2020, Amid COVID-19.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade issued a trade notice allowing importers of metallic scrap and waste to submit a scanned copy of the Pre-shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) for customs clearance due to COVID-19 disruptions. Importers must provide an undertaking to submit the original PSIC within 60 days of customs clearance. This temporary measure is valid until June 30, 2020. The scanned copy will be accepted by Customs Authorities, but the original must be submitted later. Failure to provide accurate information may result in penalties. This decision was approved by the competent authority.
