<h1>SEBI Updates BSDA Charges: No AMC for Debt Securities Below Rs. 1 Lakh; New Rules Effective June 1, 2019.</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has revised the charges for Basic Services Demat Accounts (BSDA) to encourage participation in the debt market. Effective June 1, 2019, no Annual Maintenance Charge (AMC) will be levied for debt securities holdings up to Rs. 1 lakh, and a maximum AMC of Rs. 100 for holdings between Rs. 1,00,001 and Rs. 2,00,000. For non-debt securities, no AMC applies to holdings below Rs. 50,000, with a maximum AMC of Rs. 100 for holdings between Rs. 50,001 and Rs. 2,00,000. Depositories must amend relevant regulations and report implementation status to SEBI monthly.
