of <h1>Bengaluru Customs Extends e-SANCHIT to All EDI Locations; Electronic Document Upload May Be Mandatory by March 15, 2018.</h1> The Customs Commissionerate in Bengaluru has issued a public notice regarding the extension of the e-SANCHIT application to all Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) locations, as per the Board's Circular and Instruction. Initially launched on a pilot basis, e-SANCHIT allows for the electronic uploading of supporting documents. While currently voluntary, it may become mandatory from March 15, 2018. Customs Brokers and self-filers using ICEGATE are encouraged to regularly utilize e-SANCHIT and begin filing documents electronically if they have not done so already. Any implementation issues should be reported to the office.
