of <h1>Board Approves New SEZs in Tamil Nadu, Validity Extensions, and Management Consultant Services; Defers Some Proposals for Review.</h1> The 85th Board of Approval meeting for Special Economic Zones (SEZ) on November 2, 2018, addressed various proposals including extensions of validity for formal approvals and Letters of Permission (LoP) for multiple companies. The Board approved setting up new sector-specific SEZs in Tamil Nadu and addressed changes in co-developer status and shareholding patterns. Several proposals were deferred for further examination by a group of Development Commissioners. The Board also approved amendments in land area for certain SEZs and recommended including management consultant services as an authorized service for SEZs. An appeal was deferred, and a request for provisional LOA was processed.
