DGFT Offers One-Time Extension Relief for EPCG Scheme Delays with Additional Fee; Not for Authorizations Under Investigation.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has issued a one-time relaxation for the condonation of delays in submitting requests for extensions in the Export Obligation period under the EPCG Scheme. This applies to authorizations issued before the current Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2015-20. Requests submitted beyond the prescribed period may now be considered upon payment of an additional fee of Rs. 5000 per authorization. This facility is not available for authorizations under investigation, rejected by the EPCG committee, issued before September 1, 2004, or lacking an installation certificate. The extension requests must comply with all other relevant conditions of the FTP and Handbook of Procedures.
