of <h1>DGFT Extends Deadline for Refineries to Obtain BIS License for Gold-Dore Imports to May 31, 2018.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the deadline for refineries to obtain a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) license for importing gold-dore. Initially required by June 1, 2017, the new deadline is May 31, 2018. After June 1, 2018, only refineries with a valid BIS license can apply for import authorization. First-time applicants must present accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and secure a BIS license within one year of receiving authorization. This decision follows requests to extend the original deadline.
