New IEC Address Change Procedure: Requests Must Go to New Regional Authority for Jurisdiction Changes in Chapter 2 Amendment.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has amended Chapter 2 of the Handbook of Procedure (2015-20) regarding the modification of Importer Exporter Code (IEC) details. When an IEC holder seeks to change the address of their Head Office or Registered Office, which results in a shift in jurisdiction, the request must now be made to the new Regional Authority (RA) where the office is relocating. The new RA will amend the IEC based on the submitted documents and inform the original RA of these changes. This amendment streamlines the procedure for address modification in IECs.
