of <h1>Logistics Site in Tamil Nadu Designated as 'Customs Area' for FCL Cargo u/s 8 of Customs Act 1962.</h1> The premises of a logistics company in Kattarambakkam Village, Sriperumbudur Taluka, Tamil Nadu, have been designated as a 'Customs Area' under Section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962. This area, covering 12.37 acres with two warehouses, is authorized for the examination and clearance of imported full container load (FCL) cargo moved from Chennai Port Trust, excluding less than container load (LCL) cargo and unaccompanied baggage. It also permits the examination, stuffing, and loading of export cargo under Customs supervision. The procedures outlined in previous notices must be followed, effective June 1, 2008.
