of <h1>Chennai Logistics Facility Designated as Customs Area for Cargo Clearance Under Customs Act, 1962, Effective November 2007.</h1> The premises of a logistics company in Chennai have been designated as a Customs Area under the Customs Act, 1962, effective from November 15, 2007. This designation allows for the examination and clearance of imported cargo in full container loads (FCL) and the handling of export cargo under Customs supervision. The facility spans 9.395 acres and includes warehouses and open storage areas for both stuffed and empty containers. Specific procedures for handling import and export cargo are outlined in previous Customs House notices. The area is bounded by various survey numbers and Vichur Main Road.
