of <h1>Sewri North Plot Designated as Customs Area for Metallic Scrap Storage Under Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Sewri North plot, covering approximately 5100 square meters, has been designated as a Customs area for storing metallic scrap, machinery packages, non-hazardous drums, and similar cargo. This designation is made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962. The area is bounded by Hindustan Petroleum installations to the north and south, MB. P.T. Road to the west, and an oil depot and main road to the east. The Mumbai Port Trust is responsible for maintaining control and ensuring security, adequate lighting, and fire-fighting equipment in the area.
