DGFT Mumbai Updates Trade Notice: Ozone-Depleting Substance Declarations Required Only for Chemical Inputs in Authorizations.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Mumbai, issued Trade Notice No. 04/AM-11 on February 15, 2011, modifying a previous notice from October 8, 2010. The original notice required trade and industry members to declare whether inputs in applications for advance authorization or DFIA were ozone-depleting substances (ODS). The modification specifies that such declarations are now mandatory only when the inputs are chemical substances. This change aims to prevent the importation of ODS under advance authorization or DFIA, aligning with the policy outlined in Circular No. 52(REP) dated January 6, 2009.
