of <h1>Foreign Trade Policy Update: Export Obligation Period Extended Automatically for Banned Products, No Fees or Obligations During Ban Period.</h1> A public notice issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade amends the Handbook of Procedures under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09. It states that if a ban or restriction is imposed on the export of any product, the export obligation period for EPCG authorizations issued before such a ban will be automatically extended by the duration of the ban. This extension requires no composition fee, and exporters are exempt from fulfilling the average export obligation during the ban period. This amendment is made in the public interest.
