New DEPB Credit Guidelines: Exporters Can Apply or Revise Claims for Shipments From April 2002 Due to SAD Changes.
The circular outlines guidelines for issuing supplementary Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) credits due to changes in the Special Additional Duty (SAD) computation. Exporters who have not yet applied for DEPB credits for shipments dated on or after April 1, 2002, can apply under new rates. Those who have already applied can revise claims if DEPBs are unprinted by February 20, 2003. Exporters who received DEPBs can apply for supplementary DEPBs for rate differences. Applications must be filed by September 30, 2003, and supplementary DEPBs will be valid for 12 months. The circular specifies application procedures, fees, and conditions for claims.
