Import quotas under the India-Nepal trade treaty permit specified goods via designated land customs stations within annual quota periods. Import of Vegetable fats (Vanaspati), Acrylic yarn, Copper products (Chapter 74 and heading 85.44) and Zinc oxide from Nepal is permitted under the Customs Notification's duty rates and conditions, subject to specified annual quantity limits and a quota year from 6 March to 5 March; unutilized quota lapses. Such imports are allowed only through designated Land Customs Stations. The Notice also designates the State Trading Corporation and its associates as agencies to import and monitor Vanaspati, with existing agency arrangements for warehousing continuing.
