of <h1>Clarification Issued: DFCEC Scheme Permits Only Professional Equipment Import, Excludes General Capital Goods Under Para 3.8 EXIM Policy.</h1> The DFCEC Scheme for Service Providers, as per Para 3.8 of the EXIM Policy, allows the import of spares, office equipment, furniture, and professional equipment, excluding agricultural and dairy products. A query was raised about whether all capital goods could be imported under this scheme. After consultation, it was clarified that only professional equipment necessary for service provision and foreign exchange earnings is permissible under DFCEC. Capital goods, other than professional or office equipment, are not allowed under this scheme but can be imported via the EPCG route. A corrigendum has been issued to clarify the terms used in the relevant customs notification.
