Department of Revenue Expands TRA Facility for DEPB Scheme to Include Amritsar Port, Boosting Scrip Utilization.
The circular from the Department of Revenue extends the Telegraphic Release Advice (TRA) facility under the Duty Entitlement Passbook (DEPB) Scheme to Amritsar Port. Previously, DEPB scrips with Amritsar as the port of registration could only be used for imports from Pakistan, leading to underutilization. The new decision allows exporters with DEPB scrips registered at Amritsar to use the TRA facility for importing goods through any notified sea ports, enhancing scrip utilization. Amritsar Customs House will manage and verify the issuance of TRAs and maintain records of imports facilitated through other ports. Any implementation issues should be reported to the Board.
