of <h1>Companies Can Serve Documents via Email u/s 53 of Companies Act, 1956, Using IT Act for Legal Validity.</h1> The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has initiated a green initiative allowing companies to comply with regulations electronically, referencing the Information Technology Act, 2000, for legal validity. Following the discontinuation of the 'Certificate of posting' by the postal department, companies can now serve documents via email, satisfying Section 53 of the Companies Act, 1956, provided they collect members' email addresses and offer them the chance to update these details. If a member does not register an email address, alternative service methods under Section 53 will apply.
