All gifts must be deposited with the sponsoring ministry secretary, who forwards them to Toshakhana for valuation. Gifts valued under three thousand rupees may be retained by the recipient, while higher-valued items remain in Toshakhana unless purchased by paying the difference above the threshold amount.
