Capacity to contract governs negotiable instruments; minors cannot bind themselves though others may be bound.

Persons capable of contracting under their applicable law may bind themselves by making, drawing, accepting, indorsing, delivering and negotiating promissory notes, bills and cheques. A minor may perform those acts so as to bind other parties but not himself. Corporations may make, indorse or accept such instruments only when empowered by the relevant corporate law.
