Plan termination rules permit cessation after the statutory term or upon extensive unit repurchase triggering early redemption.

Under the Equity Linked Savings Scheme, a plan terminates at the close of the ten year scheme period from allotment; if a substantial proportion of units are repurchased before that period ends, the Unit Trust or Mutual Fund may elect early termination and must redeem outstanding units at a final repurchase price fixed by them.
