of <h1>Electronic Filing of TDS Returns Mandatory for All Under Section 206(2) of the Income-tax Act, 1961</h1> The Electronic Filing of Returns of Tax Deducted at Source Scheme, 2003, established by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, mandates the electronic filing of tax deducted at source (TDS) returns. This scheme, effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette, applies to all individuals and entities required to file TDS returns using computer media as per sub-section (2) of section 206 of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
