International Aircraft Business Profits Taxed Only in Home State; Includes Interest, Ticket Sales, Leasing, and More.
Profits earned by a business from operating aircraft in international traffic are taxable only in the enterprise's home state. This rule also applies to profits from participation in a pool, joint business, or international operating agency. Interest on funds related to aircraft operations is considered part of these profits, excluding the application of Article 12. 'Operation of aircraft' encompasses air transportation of passengers, mail, livestock, or goods, including ticket sales on behalf of other enterprises, incidental aircraft leasing, and activities directly related to such transportation.
