of <h1>Legislative Removal of Explanation Below Section 189(3) of Income-tax Act via Amendment Acts in 1987 and 1989</h1> Section 71 of the Direct Tax Laws (Amendment) Act, 1987, which amended section 189 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 by omitting the Explanation below sub-section (3), was itself omitted effective April 1, 1989, by section 95 of the Direct Tax Laws (Amendment) Act, 1989. This reflects a legislative change removing the previously inserted amendment to section 189.
