of <h1>Germany-India Double Taxation Agreement Set to Activate; Impacts Taxes from January 1 and April 1 Next Year.</h1> The agreement between Germany and India for the avoidance of double taxation will enter into force one month after the latter notification of compliance with legal requirements. In Germany, it affects taxes withheld at source on dividends, interest, royalties, and fees for technical services from January 1 of the following calendar year, and other taxes from the same date. In India, it applies to income from fiscal years starting April 1 of the following calendar year and capital held on the last day of such fiscal years. Upon enactment, previous agreements and protocols signed in 1959 and 1984 will expire.
